The angels were blessing my project when they brought Helen into my life. Helen is an unbelievably gifted artist. I have a background in television documentaries, and working with Helen was like working with a top-notch film editor, only using stills instead of footage. I inundated Helen with hundreds of images, and she skillfully made her way through them as we worked on each page, inserting or suggesting images I'd forgotten about or had grown inured to. Sometimes she magically found images on the net that were vastly superior to the ones I gave her, and she was unfailingly patient as I sent revision after revision of the text.

Helen's greatest gift to me was to suggest two running streams of narrative in my site, a "Did You Know" section for the great little gossipy tidbits running alongside the main narrative. This solved a lot of structural problems, and made for a much more imaginative and fun website. The Singer Memories website has brought me the publishing support that I need to complete my book - the only problem is that I'm having a hard time weaning myself from Helen's unflagging, good-humoured support.
